FSL 2.30 is in development

September 16, 2009 · Print This Article

AutoCAD 2010 support was our stated goal for the 2.30 software release, but it looks like we may get more than we bargained for! Our software developers are looking into Windows 7 support, as well as faster servers to make downloads quicker.

We hope to have the release out in early- to mid-October. Keep your fingers crossed…

Need revit content of your products (not converted 3d dwg files). This should be of major importance since the trend in the contruction industry is towards bim. I would suggest just providing content in lieu of eleaborate product add-ons. This would be more beneficial to us designers because autodesk and other cad/bim vendors are updating products yearly. And the FSL program is not keeping pace.

Thank you for your feedback, Travis! Right or wrong, we are standardized on Pro/E and AutoCAD, not Revit. We are continuing to test Revit modesl in a pilot mode, and we intend to post the families that we have developed to Steelcase.com as you suggested.

That is good feedback on providing the content vs. an application, and we appreciate your patience as we attempt to keep pace with CAD platform releases.

Any update on a release date? We are about to upgrade all of our AutoCAD labs to 2010.

Manuel, we are looking at a mid-November release date, though we could get you a beta copy early if you need it for a lab migration project. I think we would prefer to ensure that the software is properly tested, but if you need an early copy, please let us know at fsl@steelcase.com. Thanks!
